Happy Friday friends! Today is the first day of the Sephora sale and you all know how much I LOVE my beauty things. I'm sharing my tried and true picks - these are things that i'm currently using, loving, or obsessed with. I've rounded up my top ten must-haves in the photo below (it's clickable!) and I've broken down the rest into categories so it wont get confusing for ya. Use the code "HOLIDAYFUN" at checkout. Happy shopping!
We'll start off with my favorite category. My skin is really sensitive so I tend to stick to brands that work for me. Everything here I have tried and loved. The only thing I recommend is to make sure you are not mixing harsh ingredients. For example, I can't use retinol and AHA together, so I decided to stick with just retinol because it works better for me. Confused about retinol? You can read more up on it here. If your skin isn't as sensitive as mine, you can probably alternate between the retinol and the AHA, but remember every skin type is different and it's important to introduce new chemicals slowly. Here are my faves:
- Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic + Retinol Triple Correction Eye Serum
You guys know I live by this stuff. Erased my under-eye lines starting to form and also worked for my mom.
- The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
Niacinamide helps fade darks spots on the skin. Most serums have a small percentage of Niacinamide in it, but this is the highest dose in the purest form. Use this in addition to your night time routine.
- Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil
Overall a great serum. Helps keep skin supple and glowy.
- Drunk Elephant A-Passioni™ Retinol Cream
If you follow me on instagram you know how obsessed I am with retinol. It's literally skin changing. It basically helps you shed your skin faster, revealing brand new, baby soft skin. Everyone should have this in their beauty cabinet.
- Drunk Elephant B-Hydra™ Intensive Hydration Serum
Hydrated skin means supple skin. This helps my skin keep a healthy glow, especially when traveling.
AHA is a type of acid found in foods. Like retinol, it also helps speed up the skin shedding process, revealing bright, glowy skin.
- Sunday Riley A+ High-Dose Retinol Serum
Currently using this and loving it! No complaints over here. I find it a little bit less harsh than my straight retinol from Skinceuticals, so this may be good for someone who is interested in adding retinol to their skincare routine.
- Drunk Elephant Protini™ Polypeptide Moisturizer
Polypeptides stimulate collagen in the skin, which will create plump, bouncy skin.
- TATCHA The Water Cream
Like a big glass of water for your face. Leaves my skin feeling extra soft.
- Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask
I use this when my skin is in need of extra hydration. It's extremely hydrating, so i'll often use it as a night time moisturizer instead of just a mask. It helped my skin recover from the dryness when I was living in L.A.
- It Cosmetics Confidence in a Cream Hydrating Moisturizer
Another great hydrating moisturizer. It's a little heavy, so I recommend this during the winter time. Also leaves your skin feeling really soft
- Olehenriksen Banana Bright Eye Crème
This cream has a yellow tint so it helps brighten up the eye area. Use this is your concern is dark under-eyes.
- First Aid Beauty Skin Lab Retinol Eye Cream
It's like retinol, but for your eyes. Use this is your concern is fine lines.
- REN Skincare Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Toner
Similar to the honeymoon glow serum, this AHA is in toner form. If you want one less serum on your face, this is for you.
- Caudalie Beauty Elixer
The one thing thats always on my Christmas wish list. I love this spray because it helps balance out my skin and almost erases the look of my pores. Leaves my skin feeling brand new.
- Youth To The People Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser
Clean, superfood cleanser. Its gentle enough to use on my face everyday. Great for washing off your nightime moisterizers in the morning.
- Dr. Dennis Gross SpectraLite™ Faceware Pro
My holy grail! This is like going in for a light therapy facial, except you get just a little bit every night. It erased lines that were forming on my forehead and around my mouth. I know it sounds too good to be true, but it really is. It has a hefty price tag but if you're religious with your skin care, you will definitely benefit from this.
- Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic + Retinol Wrinkle Recovery Peel
I used this when I was recovering from my post acutane skin (i stopped mid-way, which left lots of spots on my skin). This helped revive my dull skin and fade away some of the dark spots.
- Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial™ 25% AHA + 2% BHA Mask
Love using this on Sunday nights. It leaves my skin glowy and feeling extra soft. If you're not as good about an everyday skin care routine but still want some benefits, this is for you.
My next favorite category. I love styling and treating my hair, but I have to make sure i'm using good quality stuff because my hair gets pretty damaged from all the heat styling on set. Here are my current faves:
- Olaplex Hair Perfector No. 3
My favorite thing to use after a shoot. It's especially helpful when my hair is extra blonde. It helps removes frizz, hydrate hair and gives you a just-out-of-the-salon look.
I like using this straight out of the shower. It's like a leave in conditioner but a little less heavy. It also helps remove frizz and hydrate hair.
- Moroccanoil Treatment
This is similar to the IGK mistress but in oil form. If you want something that is effective and will last you a long time, this is for you.
- VERB Ghost shampoo + conditioner
YOU GUYS. This changed my hair. It makes my hair so soft and shiny, but style holds my style. It also helped with my frizz. So obsessed with this combo right now!!
- Olaplex No.7 Bonding Oil
I use this every single time I wash my hair. I went a little toooo blonde last year and I saw the damage. This has reversed the damage significantly and helps with my split ends. A little goes a long way, and I only use it at the ends of my hair.
- Living Proof No Frizz Humidity Shield
If you live in Miami, you need this! It's like a shield for your hair + has hairspray hold. Nic loves stealing this from me during the rainy months.
- Living Proof Full Root Lift
I love volume so this is my go-to. I spray it on my roots right after i've washed my hair.
- OUAI Finishing Crème
Another hair product that Nic loves to steal. I love using this after i've curled my hair to give it a little texture and separation. Nic likes using it after the shower because it's also a heat protectant and helps his hair hold a blow dry. Its a multi-use winner.
- IGK Rich Kid Coconut Oil Gel
This is my favorite summer hair styling item. After a beach day, I apply it to my wet hair and it leaves mermaid like hair. It also smells absolutely delicious. Can also be used for flyaways when rocking an updo.
- IGK Beach Club Texture Spray
Another holy grail of mine. I'm seriously obsessed with this stuff. The only thing that gives me texture and "cool-girl" hair. It's the one product I always use on my hair when styling. You can see how I use it on my IGTV voluminous hair tutorial.
My all-time favorite shampoo. This one actually sucks up oil, it doesn't mask it. And it works on 7th day hair (i've tried). Nothing beats this dry shampoo.
I love a good fake tan. If you want to read more about my tanning do's and dont's, click here. These are my favorites that are sold at Sephora:
- Isle of Paradise Self Tanning Drops
I use the purple bottle. I love mixing this in with my body lotion and it builds a really nice, natural looking glow.
- St.Tropez Gradual Tan Classic Everyday Body Lotion
This is what introduced me to self tanning. I was scared of looking orange and streaky so I went with this gradual self tanner and it worked wonders. I had never gotten so many questions about my tan after I started using this. It also makes your skin extra soft because its so hydrating. If you are a tanning newbie or just prefer a soft, natural looking glow this is for you.
- St.Tropez Double Sided Luxe Tan Applicator Mitt
I'm not a fan of St.Tropez instant tanning mousse, but I do love their mitts. If you're in need of a good mitt, nows the time to buy.
- Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi™ Anti-Pollution Sunshine Drops
This is not an actual tanner, but it gives the illusion of a tan. It has a bronze-y color to it so it gives you an instant tan as soon as you apply it. I like using this when my body is extra tan but my face doesn't match. It also works well alone, giving you a healthy looking glow.
I've always loved learning new makeup tricks form professional makeup artists when i'm on set. Another bonus is finding great products that I know work well. Here are some of my everyday favorites:
- It Cosmetics CC+ Cream
I use this as a foundation. It's light enough to wear during the day but is also buildable enough so you can wear it at night. It gives me natural, blended coverage and it doesn't make me look like i'm wearing too much makeup. I use the color Medium Tan.
- ILIA Super Serum Skin Tint
Theres nothing like this product. It's basically skincare and makeup in one. It even makes me skin glow the more I use it. I use a little on the days I want a no makeup look. You can also use it with a brush for a little bit of better coverage.
- MILK matte bronzer
This is basically my contour stick now. It's a bronzer, so it gives me a really natural contoured look. I use it along my cheekbones and down my nose for a slimmer look. It blends nicely and adds a touch of warmth while sculpting your face.
- Benefits Gimme Brow+ Tinted Volumizing Eyebrow Gel
I use this on days when I need a quick brow fill in. Think of it like mascara for your brows. It fills them in nicely, but makes it look like you woke up with brows that perfect.
- NARS Blush/Bronzer Duo
My all time favorite blush and bronzer colors. These are flattering on every skin tone and it's a makeup artists favorite.
- Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray
It works! I love wearing it for special occasions or when I know i'll be outside all day - and probably sweating.
- Bobbi Brown Bronzer
This is the bronzer I use when i'm a little more tan than usual. It gives me a nice, warm glow. I use the color Natural (1).
- Marc Jacobs Beauty O!Mega Bronzer Perfect Tan
This is the bronzer I use during the winter time. It's very natural and if applied with the right brush, gives you the perfect "tan". I use the color 102 Tantric.
- Kevin Aucoin The Neo-Bronzer
I like this bronzer because its ombre. So I can contour/go a little darker around my hairline with the darker side, and use the lighter side towards the inside of my face. I use the color Dusk Medium.
- Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder
The only setting powder I use. I love applying this after my concealer or CC cream. It's not too heavy and doesn't mattify all the way, leaving a nice glow.
- Shiseido Eyelash Curler
Everyone needs an eye lash curler. This is the brand almost all makeup artists use, and will last you a lifetime. I've had mine for years.
- Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat Lip Liner - Pillow Talk Collection
The only lip liner I own. It's so natural and gives you an instant fuller lip.
- Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel
I use this daily. It's almost like a hairspray for your brows. It keeps my brows in place all day long.
- Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo
I use the color ebony. I've tried pencils and gels, but I find the powder is the most natural looking for me. I apply it with the brush below.
- Anastasia Beverly Hills Brush #12
The only brush I use for my brows! It makes such a difference.
- BECCA Anti-Fatigue Under Eye Primer
I use this when i'm looking extra tired
- Laura Mercier Hydrating Primer
This primer helps my makeup last all day while making my skin look healthy
- Makeup Forever Self Setting Concealer
It's a color correcting concealer so it helps hide dark circles when they're really showing
- Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Waterproof Eyeliner
I use a brown color keep it natural
- Sephora Collection Shadow and Eyeliner Crayon
I use a nude color to help make my eyes pop
