SEPHORA SALE PICKS

Updated: Apr 1

Today is the first day of the Sephora sale and you all know how much I LOVE my beauty things. I'm sharing my tried and true picks - these are things that i'm currently using, loving, or obsessed with. I've rounded up my top ten must-haves in the photo below (it's clickable!) and I've broken down the rest into categories so it wont get confusing for ya. Use the code "SAVESPRING" at checkout. Happy shopping!

SEPHORA 2022 SALE ACCESS:

ROUGE - STARTS 4/1

VIB - STARTS 4/5

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC - 4/7

SKIN

We'll start off with my favorite category. My skin is really sensitive so I tend to stick to brands that work for me. Everything here I have tried and loved. The only thing I recommend is to make sure you are not mixing harsh ingredients. For example, I can't use retinol and AHA together, so I decided to stick with just retinol because it works better for me. Confused about retinol? You can read more up on it here. If your skin isn't as sensitive as mine, you can probably alternate between the retinol and the AHA, but remember every skin type is different and it's important to introduce new chemicals slowly. Here are my faves:

SERUMS:

- Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic + Retinol Triple Correction Eye Serum

You guys know I live by this stuff. Erased my under-eye lines starting to form and also worked for my mom. *edit: it has a new updated look and a better bottle.

- The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%

Niacinamide helps fade darks spots on the skin. Most serums have a small percentage of Niacinamide in it, but this is the highest dose in the purest form. Use this in addition to your night time routine.

- Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil

Overall a great serum. Helps keep skin supple and glowy.

- Drunk Elephant A-Passioni™ Retinol Cream

If you follow me on instagram you know how obsessed I am with retinol. It's literally skin changing. It basically helps you shed your skin faster, revealing brand new, baby soft skin. Everyone should have this in their beauty cabinet. Personally, I prefer the skinceuticals one, but if your budget doesn't allow for that one, this one is the next best one.

- Farmacy HONEYMOON GLOW AHA Resurfacing Night Serum

AHA is a type of acid found in foods. Like retinol, it also helps speed up the skin shedding process, revealing bright, glowy skin.

- Sunday Riley A+ High-Dose Retinol Serum

I find it a little bit less harsh than my straight retinol from Skinceuticals, so this may be good for someone who is interested in adding retinol to their skincare routine.

MOISTERIZERS:

- Drunk Elephant Protini™ Polypeptide Moisturizer

Polypeptides stimulate collagen in the skin, which will create plump, bouncy skin. I like this as a day time moisterizer.

- TATCHA The Water Cream

Like a big glass of water for your face. Leaves my skin feeling extra soft. This is what i'm currently using.

- Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask

I use this when my skin is in need of extra hydration. It's extremely hydrating, so i'll often use it as a night time moisturizer instead of just a mask. It helped my skin recover from the dryness when I was living in L.A.

EYE CREAM:

- Olehenriksen Banana Bright Eye Crème

This cream has a yellow tint so it helps brighten up the eye area. Use this is your concern is dark under-eyes.

- First Aid Beauty Skin Lab Retinol Eye Cream

It's like retinol, but for your eyes. Use this is your concern is fine lines.

TONERS:

- REN Skincare Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Toner

Similar to the honeymoon glow serum, this AHA is in toner form. If you want one less serum on your face, this is for you.

- Caudalie Beauty Elixer

The one thing thats always on my Christmas wish list. I love this spray because it helps balance out my skin and almost erases the look of my pores. Leaves my skin feeling brand new.

FACE WASH:

- Youth To The People Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser

Clean, superfood cleanser. Its gentle enough to use on my face everyday. Great for washing off your nightime moisterizers in the morning.

MASKS/TREATMENTS:

- Dr. Dennis Gross SpectraLite™ Faceware Pro

My holy grail! This is like going in for a light therapy facial, except you get just a little bit every night. It erased lines that were forming on my forehead and around my mouth. I know it sounds too good to be true, but it really is. It has a hefty price tag but if you're religious with your skin care, you will definitely benefit from this.

- Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta® Extra Strength Daily Peel

I used this when I was recovering from my post acutane skin (I stopped mid-way, which left lots of spots on my skin). This helped revive my dull skin and fade away some of the dark spots.

- Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial™ 25% AHA + 2% BHA Mask

Love using this on Sunday nights. It leaves my skin glowy and feeling extra soft. If you're not as good about an everyday skin care routine but still want some benefits, this is for you.

SUNSCREEN:

- Supergoop Glowscreen Sunscreen SPF 40 PA+++

I know youre probably thinking *why do i want my face shiny* but this isnt a shiny glow, it's like a healthy glow. It's like a pearlized formula with a pinky-nude tint so it just ,makes your face look really healthy.

HAIR

My next favorite category. I love styling and treating my hair, but I have to make sure i'm using good quality stuff because my hair gets pretty damaged from all the heat styling on set. Here are my current faves:

HAIR CARE:

- IGK Good Behavior 4-in-1 Prep Spray

I spray this in my wet hair after every wash and it helps with frizz and just overall styling. I notice shinier hair when I use this product and it really helps with frizz. I also like that this has heat protectant. It's like a multi tasking hair step.

- Olaplex Hair Perfector No. 3

My favorite thing to use after a shoot. It's especially helpful when my hair is extra blonde. It helps removes frizz, hydrate hair and gives you a just-out-of-the-salon look. I like using this 2-3x a month.

- VERB Ghost shampoo + conditioner

YOU GUYS. This changed my hair. It makes my hair so soft and shiny, but style holds my style. It also helped with my frizz. So obsessed with this combo right now!! *edit: i've officially been using this for over a year and i'm still obsessed. I tried the hydrating line from them and it's not the same. The ghost line leave my hair feeling bouncy and light.

- Olaplex No.7 Bonding Oil

I use this every single time I wash my hair. I went a little toooo blonde last year and I saw the damage. This has reversed the damage significantly and helps with my split ends. A little goes a long way, and I only use it at the ends of my hair. *edit: it's been over one year of using this and this bottle is still going strong. You only need the tiniest amount.

- Dyson Airwrap™ Styler

I got this during the last Sephora sale and i'm glad I did. I use the round brush attachment everyday to fluff up the hair around my face. I also love it for volume. I don't use the curling attachments that much, but I do use the smoothing brush and the round brush all of the time. Cons: it takes a little longer to dry your hair. Pros: its easy to use, you can get a blowout style at home, the volume lasts until the next day, and its a great hair refresher.

STYLING PRODUCTS:

- Living Proof: Perfect Hair Day Heat Styling Spray

I use this when re-styling my hair the next day (use on dry hair) and it helps protect from the extra heat i'm applying.

- Living Proof No Frizz Humidity Shield

If you live in Miami, you need this! It's like a shield for your hair + has hairspray hold. Nic loves stealing this from me during the rainy months. I will say this is a bit of a heavier hold, but worth it if you get frizzy hair.

- Living Proof Full Root Lift

I love volume so this is my go-to. I spray it on my roots right after i've washed my hair.

- OUAI Finishing Crème

Another hair product that Nic loves to steal. I love using this after i've curled my hair to give it a little texture and separation. Nic likes using it after the shower because it's also a heat protectant and helps his hair hold a blow dry. Its a multi-use winner.

- IGK Beach Club Texture Spray

Another holy grail of mine. I'm seriously obsessed with this stuff. The only thing that gives me texture and "cool-girl" hair. It's the one product I always use on my hair when styling. You can see how I use it on my IGTV voluminous hair tutorial. *edit: I've officially been using this for over 3 years and I have never found anything that comes close. Definitely a top 3 for me.

- IGK First Class Charcoal Detox Dry Shampoo

My all-time favorite shampoo. This one actually sucks up oil, it doesn't mask it. And it works on 7th day hair (i've tried). Nothing beats this dry shampoo.

TANNING

I love a good fake tan. If you want to read more about my tanning do's and dont's, click here. These are my favorites that are sold at Sephora:

- St.Tropez Gradual Tan Classic Everyday Body Lotion

This is what introduced me to self tanning. I was scared of looking orange and streaky so I went with this gradual self tanner and it worked wonders. I had never gotten so many questions about my tan after I started using this. It also makes your skin extra soft because its so hydrating. If you are a tanning newbie or just prefer a soft, natural looking glow this is for you. Note: this is a slow building tanner. You need to apply the cream every day (or every other day) to start seeing color. That's why it's great for newbies.

- St.Tropez Double Sided Luxe Tan Applicator Mitt

I'm not a fan of St.Tropez instant tanning mousse, but I do love their mitts. If you're in need of a good mitt, nows the time to buy.

- Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi™ Anti-Pollution Sunshine Drops

This is not an actual tanner, but it gives the illusion of a tan. It has a bronze-y color to it so it gives you an instant tan as soon as you apply it. I like using this when my body is extra tan but my face doesn't match. It also works well alone, giving you a healthy looking glow.

MAKEUP

I've always loved learning new makeup tricks form professional makeup artists when i'm on set. Another bonus is finding great products that I know work well. Here are some of my everyday favorites:

FACE:

- Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder

The only setting powder I use. I love applying this after my concealer or CC cream. It's not too heavy and doesn't mattify all the way, leaving a nice glow.

- Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray

I recently got this while I was in New York and I must say, it really makes my makeup last all. day. long.

- Laura Mercier Hydrating Primer

This primer helps my makeup last all day while making my skin look healthy. Still using the full size bottle a year later.

- Makeup For Ever Step 1 Primer Shine Control

Every time I buy something from Sephora i choose this as my "sample" option and that's how I fell in love. I use it on my shiny areas (in between eyebrows, around nose, chin) and it helps control the shine. I especially love it with the Ilia skin tint.

- Beautyblender ORIGINAL BEAUTYBLENDER Makeup Sponge

I listened to a podcast with the inventor of this blender and she said that they own the patent for the sponge technology in this so no other sponge is like this one. I used to use it years ago and now idk why I stopped bc it's great!! This is how I apply my foundation now.

FOUNDATIONS: *listed in order from minimum coverage to maximum coverage*

- ILIA Super Serum Skin Tint

Theres nothing like this product. It's basically skincare and makeup in one. It even makes me skin glow the more I use it. I use a little on the days I want a no makeup look. You can also use it with a brush for a little bit of better coverage. It does come off a little shiny, so I recommend using a primer that makes your skin matte. I like this one. I use color 12.5

- Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Oil Free Natural Skin Perfector Broad Spectrum SPF 20

This is a bit heavier than the Ilia skin tint. This is great for everyday, if you want a bit more coverage. I also like that it has SPF. I use color 3W1

- Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Perfect Glow Flawless Oil-Free Foundation

You may or may not know that i'm on a hunt for wedding foundation and this has become a favorite of mine. I would say its moderate coverage and sits nicely on the skin. This is a good day time foundation. I use color 6.5

- Dior Airflash Spray Foundation

I tried this one because 3 makeup artists I know recommended it to me and now I get the hype. I apply it on my hand and then use my beauty blender to apply. I like how smooth it leaves my skin, but I will say it doesn't last very long since it's a spray. This is great for special occasions. I use color 311.

- Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Longwear Foundation

This one is definitely long-losting. It's pretty heavy, but not in a bad way. I prefer wearing this at night because it just makes you look like you have more makeup on and I personally don't like that look for a daytime event. It is full coverage so it will hide all dark spots/any facial marks. I use color 8

BRONZER:

- Ilia NightLite Bronzer Powder

I like using this bronzer (color: novelty) in the summer time bc it's pretty dark. i love the warmth it gives my face.

- NARS Blush/Bronzer Duo

My all time favorite blush and bronzer colors. These are flattering on every skin tone and it's a makeup artists favorite.

BLUSH:

- Ilia Multi-Stick Cheek & Lip

I use the color "Dreamer". I pretty much use it every day underneath my powder blush. I like that its a cream so it sits well on the skin underneath powder. If i'm going for a more casual face, i'll only use this and no powder blush.

EYES:

- Charlotte Tilbury Eyes To Mesmerize Cream Eyeshadow

I recently started using this and I LOVE it!! It's so easy to use (I apply with my fingers) and it compliments the eye color so well. It's also a great base when doing a dramatic eye. I use the color "Amber Gold".

- Shiseido Eyelash Curler

Everyone needs an eye lash curler. This is the brand almost all makeup artists use, and will last you a lifetime. I've had mine for years.

- Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Waterproof Eyeliner

I use a brown color keep it natural. I've been using this color since high school. It's the eyeliner I ALWAYS have on.

- Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo

I use the color ebony. I've tried pencils and gels, but I find the powder is the most natural looking for me. I apply it with the brush below. *edit: i've been using this for longer than i've been with Nic (lol) and I still love it. It gives you such a natural look and is buildable.

- Anastasia Beverly Hills Brush #12

The only brush I use for my brows! It makes such a difference.

- Refy Brow Sculpt Shape and Hold Gel with Lamination Effect

This is the gel I use to get a lamination look. Not a huge fan that it's white, but the more you use it, the more you get the hang of applying.

LIPS:

- Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat Lip Liner - Pillow Talk Collection

It's so natural and gives you an instant fuller lip.

- YSL Rouge Volupté Shine Lipstick Balm

This is the first lipstick I have ever finished. Ever. It's like a lipstick and a lip balm in one, so it's really hydrating a smells delicious! I swear by the color "123 Transparent". It's what I have on my lips most of the time.
